a day with the relatives

The Weather Channel had informed Themselves that today would be hot and sunny, so they decided to spend the best part of the day at Aquatica playing on the water rides.  They had offered to take us too, but we declined as it always gives us Bad Hair Days.

Oskar and I decided that we would take this opportunity to see if we could track down some long-lost relatives.  These guys seemed happy enough to see us :o)

And this BIG guy was so happy he hugged us.  Nearly to death.   For a long time.

Amazed that we did not know where we are, he told us to keep looking for signs.... so the quest continues.....

a spin......

We found this car, which seemed much for suitable for Oskar and me. We decided to take it for a quick spin, leaving Themselves to their own devices for a few minutes.

Upon our return, Themselves were still nowhere to be seen. As the day was turning out nice Olaf and I decided to have a drink at Starbucks and people watch whilst we waited.

Only too late, we realised that we should never have let Themselves off on their own. Even after a relatively short time, evidence below demonstrates that they cannot be trusted ...

a clue as to where they are

We know where we are!!! Whoo hoo. Macy's NEW YORK.

Only one thing puzzled us. Why did themselves not go shopping?? Nothing normally stops them......

But wait, just around the corner was this sign. We got on the phone to our friends, Juan and Carlos, who told us that these towns are definitely in New England. Cape Cod to be precise.

Curiouser and curiouser! We know that Hollywood is in California. We were there ourselves only last May.

HELP!
We fear themselves have developed a Time-travelling machine and intend to use it for evil. Or at least to torment us.

a continued search for that friendly face

Olaf and I found these chaps. They were very smiley and provided some refreshment for us too; most appreciated as the day was becoming very hot. But they all said they would not be able to help us (though I thought Olaf looked very good in his racing leathers), something to do with we'd only end up going round in circles.....

These chaps were a bit more like they could take themselves on. Oskar and I thought we would fit in well, but this gang turned out to be a tad one-dimensional.

We fear our search must continue. And we still have no real clue as to where we actually are!

someone to help rescue them

We found this, slightly odd, police car. It said to 'to serve and protect' on the side, so we peeked inside to see where the officers were

but to our dismay, we were kidnapped by the fella below. It appears that themselves were 'shakin their tail feathers' but would not do it for an audience until given good reason. Themselves were then the centre of the show......strange how there are no photos of that though!!!!!

a day at the park

Themselves promised us a day at the park to recover from the long and arduous trip.

We thought a gentle walk would relax us but then we saw that themselves had a different type of park in mind
when we saw this.

As we suspected, themselves thought we should have a go

but to our relief we didn't quite meet the Health and Safety requirements

an educated guess at where we're going

- we must be going somewhere in the good old US of A. Not that themselves chose to tell us that - the fact that we had to complete the essential customs declaration gave it away!

Luckily as we are from the same household, we only had to complete one. Oskar decided that I had the best writing, though he then decided he too would help. Unfortunately he believes that a pen does not have to be held in a paw to be effective!!

turbulence

It was a long flight, and very bumpy.  Luckily for Olaf and I, themselves had been very generous and booked a seat specially for us.

Nevertheless it was very scary so....
we put on our masks, held on tight and hoped for the best!!!

the airport

Once again themselves had whisked us off to the airport.  Despite my asking Olaf we could not work out which foreign land we were off to!
